Thanks for joining me in what I hope to be an exciting and hopefully short journey to having clear skin once again. Tomorrow my injections arrive!!! Throughout this you will have to bare with me, I’m dyslexic and my brain often tries to run ahead and get out all the information quickly instead of taking my time. So if at times this blog is jumpy you will know why.
I’ll start at the beginning. I can actually remember my very first patch of psoriasis. It was a tiny dot on my head, I was 11 (27ish years ago). I was at my friend’s house. Her mother had scalp psoriasis, and my dad had not long had it. I’m almost felt jealous, not understanding what it was but at the same time wanting so attention. I’m a drama queen!!. I remember telling my parents about it and them not quite believing me, this would soon change.
Throughout my teenage years I suffered with mainly scalp psoriasis and small patches on my elbows and knees. My head bothered me more than anything, I’d often see seen with snow showers on my shoulders. My friends would help by wiping them clear if they noticed. Some off the older boys would be mean but honestly it didn’t really bother me.
The treatment back then was pretty simple just some tar shampoo and occasionally some creams, but like I said it wasnt that bad, it was just …there.
